I really must get to Kelham Island - I'm told it's very interesting.  I hadn't thought of looking at their web site.  Come to think of it, if the 1787 Directory is to be believed, there were little mestresses as well.

Just the sort of knife used by Ray Mears, in fact - an all purpose knife you can used for everything.  I'd never actually seen one before -  as far as I know.  Very enlightening.   It hadn't occurred to me just how far Sheffield knives might go.
