Could someone please look up the 1901 records to see if this couple have any children. They were married in 1891 Swansea.
Thankyou

Hi Telephonist

What other information can you supply about the couple?

I can find a near-miss in 1901 - hubby is a railway signalman aged 48, but his name is John!  Also his son John is 14 already.

Can you provide any of ages/ place of birth/ occupation/ refs for other censuses?

I notice from the marriage that Catherine's middle name is Theresa - is there an Irish connection (or am I jumping to conclusions?)

kind regards, Arranroots  ;)

I've found newly married Catherine still with mum in 1891 RG12/4482 folio 102 pg 4 in Catherine St Ffynone ward, Swansea. Gives her a birth year of 1865, but can't make out place. In 1881, they were also in Catherine St Rg11/5362 folio 67 pg 18 stating Catherine born Woolwich, Kent in 1862. Father Thomas born Gibraltar so I'd imagine an army link. Can find no sign of Henry Charles or any other Waldrons as yet in 1901.

In 1891 it looks as though Catherine's birthplace was originally written "Kent" which was then deleted and "Essex" inserted.

...but in 1881 Catherine's age was given as 19 and birthplace as Woolwich, Kent: RG11/5362 folio 67 page 18.

What does the marriage certificate say about Henry's occupation?  I wonder whether he might have been in the army (or similar) and posted abroad.  Like you, I can't find them in  England or Wales in 1901.

Thank you for all the messages, I'm trying to think where to go next! Catherine had two other sisters Mary Jane and Lilian and these two came to NZ, Mary Jane having married Charles Austin Sumner (1878) and Lilian married a Broadbridge when she arrived. Both these died in NZ in 1945.
Can anyone find Catherine on the Wales census in 1871 at all please??

sorry only saw your other request today.
1871 17 Catherine St, Swansea RG10/5456 folio 111 pg 37
transcribed as Weer(beautiful copperplate writing but not easy to make out)
Thomas Weir head m 49   Llys....? Militia  b. Ireland
Mary Ann wife 36 b. Ireland
Mary Jane d 13 scholar b. Northumberland (transcribed as Gloucestershire!)
Sarah Ann d 11 scholar b. Devonport
Kate 9 b. Woolwich, Kent
Elizabeth 6 b. Swansea

looks like Lilly on 1881 was short for Elizabeth not Lilian. Thomas has given both Ireland and Gibraltar as place of birth.
