Hi meles

I'm just off to have supper but will wade through it later - its a thick book and annoyingly not indexed  ;)
Just thought I'd mention quickly there is a G H Dixon of Pioneer Corp The Rangers with a photo that I noticed.  Any relation?

Will have a better look for your man later though.

Cheers

Hi meles

I've attached a rough scan of the only Dixon who appears in this edition.
Can do a proper scan if required.

I'd like to think so, but probably not related...

Thanks for looking this up for me. Very much appreciated.

Message for Biker re: Gas Light & Coke Co....

Just read about the book you brought about the above..

I am a volunteer for War Memorial Trust, and have been following up their War Memorial  which is sited at the old gasworks now sold off to PROLOGIS.  The War Memorial had last year had all the bronze name plaques stolen! I reported this to WMT and after much correspondence with the owners they now have replaced the name plaques albeit on plastic sheets BUT at least they are back on the Memorial.

I'm also doing some research on the names for an article, and your book sounds 'just what I'm looking for'....
Is their any chance I could have a good look at it???  be so grateful.

I can't find out much at all about this Memorial on the internet, or much about the company...

Living in hope.....  thank you.

Was very interested in your book, my grandfather worked for a gas company in Stratford but on his marriage certificate in 1916 was listed as asoldier. Could you see if he is in your book.

Henry Amos Frederick Hill  (Hill being a common name)

Thanks very much

You don't by any chance have a Charles Edward James Flint in your book - I know he worked for the gas company in Enfield - apparently he used to go round lighting the gas lamps and I know he also served in the armed forces.

Any information would be much appreciated.

Hello - is there a Peter Carney listed. He was my grandfather and died in 1942 of TB.  He was an employee and I know he served at Ypres. Abigail

Hi
I hope you still have this book! :)
Can you please let me know if you have seen an Arthur Stevens listed in it.

Many thanks
