Messages, Replies and E-mails

I'm just trying to figure out how to find my long lost cousin Albert Bird Armstrong.  He has posted some things on this site so I know he exists.  i would appreciate any help you can give me.

I just don't see "you have xxx messages, yy are new".

Has the site changed since you posted? And, what am I to do, to see Private Messages?

In the brown band at the top of this page,where it says Home ,Forum etc etc.
There is one that says MY MESSAGES- click on that it will take you to your personal messages.

Yes we had a big revamp last Christmas.

Here's a picture of it.

Next to "My Messages" is a [1].

It shows that somebody has sent me a new message.

Excellent - thank you. And, now, how do I see messages to me that are NOT private ones (if there are such things)? Also, any replies to my past posts?

Oh, and by the way, if you look at the left of people's posting, if they are online you'll see a green Personal Message button. Just press that to send them a Personal Message.

(If they are offline, the button is just black & white, but you can still send a message by pressing it in exactly the same way).

Aha! And is a Personal Message the same thing as a Private Message?

Yes - it's the same thing, just a different name for it. Some people just use the term PM for it too.

Oh, to see new replies, click on [ New Replies ] on the top-left to see all the 'public' replies to you.

To see all your posts go to "Profile" then click on "Show Posts".
