looking for a place West Ardsley/Woodkirk, does anyone know where it's near?  Yorkshire somewhere, I believe. Any info, thanks.

Try a general search "GENUKI Woodkirk", but it is in the Wakefield area

Tingley, marked on this map, is within the parish of West Ardsley/Woodkirk, and shows you the surrounding area as it is today.

http://www.old-maps.co.uk/ - currently down for maintenance but you should be able to find an older map of the area when it's back up.

http://www.travellersinleeds.co.uk/_travellers/LeeGap.html# - there's a copy made of a 1735 map of the area showing where Lee Gap fair was held (since the 1100s, apparently!)
