Hi Narissa - and welcome!

What information have you got about John junior?  Do you know (or can you estimate) his birth year?  Was he married when he arrived in Oz and did he travel with family? Do you have an occupation for John or his father?

The only placename that jumps to mind is Ford - might it be that?

Will have a little look for you.

Kind regards, Arranroots  ;)

Hi Arranroots,
Thanks for your thoughts. The following is my summary of the immigration information:

Aboard the vessel Zemindar aged 22 a labourer, listed as being able to read (but not write)  from Noad, Gloucestershire the son of John and Hannah, father dead mother living in Gloucestershire. Religion C of E paid fare of ? one pound (hard to read)

Birth about 1835.

He was not married as he married out here (well - don't think so). Seems to have travelled alone - no other Frapes on that vessel. Ancestry has origin as Noad, Gloucestershire. A fair bit is known of him once he arrived here but nothing in England and the Census is a little non-definitive. There is a John Frape working as an ag labourer in the 1851 in Horton, Glos and another John Frape 1841 aged just 6 working as an agricultural labourer - no parents just sister Ann with him. Haven't mentally tied that all together yet mainly because the pieces don't seem to form any sort of picture yet.
Any thoughts or help would be valued.   Take care and have a great day.

Well there are very few John FRAPEs and all of them are living in Gloucestershire or from the county - assuming there are no horrible mistranscriptions.

Will have another look but you might have already done all that can be done ...

Hi

I am also related to John Frape in Australia and am trying to get into contact with narissa, any chance you can pass my details onto her? she might still be using the same email she joined with back in 2010.
