i have BEERs from Devon in my tree also, athough by 1861 they were living in Cornwall.
they could possibly be related to your BEERs but BEER was a very common name in Devon.

1841 Hone Stone, Bideford Publician, with wife Eliza son George son lewis and son Philip aged 7 wks. also at same address Mary Parkhouse 65 Nurse (a relation to Eliza Beer nee Parkhouse) and Mary White 20 Servant
1845 daughter Elizas birth certificate states Father Philip Vinton, occupation Clerk
Q2 1841- Q1 1851 Son George Beer died
1851 Philip Beer b.Monkleigh (Bideford) devon circa 1811 accountant living Torrington Lane Bideford
1861 moved from devon to Kenwyn Cornwall where he was a School master at Oxnams Parochiocal School
1867 daughter Eliza mariage certificate states, father Philip Vinton occupation School Master
1871 lived next door to Richards Vinton and family  (Richard Vinton is Phillips Daughter Elizas brother in law) address 24 Downy lane, widower, age 52 lodging with Mary Morcamb and Husband
1873 Newquay Directory, Parish Clerk Philip Beer,
1873 Newquay Directory, Oxnam's Parochial School (for boys and birls) Philip Beer, master
1873 kellys directory BEER Phillip Parish Clerk     Newlyn
BEER Phillip Master Oxnams Parochial School for boys and girls   Newlyn

Probable that Philip was buried on 01.03.1889 in the parish of landewednack newlyn cornwall age 83

1841 Phillip b. do (slighlty possible that Philip was buried on 6th august 1899 in the parsih of Paul Newlyn Cornwall age 53 )
1843 Mary Jane b. do (boarding at 5 Barrs Street Bristol St Paul in, Glucestershire 1881, unmarried (homeowners name Middleton))
28.05.1845 Eliza b. do. died 28.09.1891 Newlyn East Cornwall (have birth, marriage and detah certs.)

I moved to Canada from England via Australia and found some of my BEERS had reached here before me.  ;)

I have Mary Beer b 1827 or Monkleigh who married James Parker and stayed in Sherwill.

Ellen Beer b 1839 who married John Milton

James Beer b. 1847 who married Bethia Hern who went to Canada

As far as I know they were Bible Christians and moved to Ontario where I have tracked them down.

Any connections to Beer, Wonnacott, Hartnoll, Hern out there??    thx.

My 2nd great grand father is Samuel Vinton b.1844. I have been unsuccessful in confirming his yeat of deah. I know it was before 1891. Do you have any details.

I would also appreciate any information of Samuel's borther Richard.

Samuel died  on 19th August 1884 at Antofagasta Chile age 40
he was my 3 x great grandfather

My mother is barbara vinton daugther of ronald hector vinton and doris grace mason. Sibiling is Maxwell and Alan.

Ronald's father was samuel vinton and mother catherine donaldson. My great grand parents. Sibiling Jean, Enid, William, Jack and Joyce all born in Australia.

Samuel's father is Samuel Vinton and Eliza Beer. My 2nd great grand father and mother.

great to find a cousin  :)

my line goes from Samuel Vinton & Eliza Beer to their daughter Mary Jane Vinton known as Janie she married Edwin Holman in 1892 they had several children but their son born in 1903 George Reginald  is my grandfather.

I actually received a photo of your grand father today as I have made contact with Harold's daugther in England.

Can you explain what Samuel was doing in Chile...I'm confused...
