'Lost' Girls
« on: Thursday 15 June 06 16:10 BST (UK) »
Can someone help me find my lost girls please?

They are not at home and they are not yet married so I presume they are working away in service.

They are as follows:

1841 : Jane Hepplewhite born ~1821. The rest of the family are at East Hetton.

1841 : Ann Hepplewhite born ~1826.  The rest of the family are at East Hetton.

1851:  Frances Hepplewhite born~ 1829. The rest of the family are at Wingate.

1851:  Eleanor (Ellen)  Hepplewhite born~ 1833. The rest of the family are at Wingate.

I'm sure everyone is like me ......... worried until I find them....... then hoping people were kind to them!

Thankyou

PatV

Dear Pam and Sue

Thank you very much for your efforts.

I am amazed how much these girls got around.

They must have known people on every coalfield.
Jane was so close to home , good, I'll sleep more easily!
It is interesting that Jane was married and in Cramlington in 1851 when Eleanor was in service there. She must have got her the job. I wonder how they kept in touch; I can't imagine they were literate.

It is interesting that Ann (if she is indeed mine) was with lots of Hepplewhites ......... could point to the rellies.

Thankyou again
