Hi
Please can anyone help me,I am looking for any information on any Sleight family who are now living in Canada, but came from Lincolnshire, in the UK around Thorton Curtis and East Halton and Barrow area. I had a Great Aunt Dora Sleight  married to Richard Cox they both died at Indian Head, Regina, Canada Any information on them or any family members would be very grateful.

Could you state what year your  relatives came to Canada. It will help

greatly. If you could provide more info on the family such as names of children

etc it will go a long way in helping find them.

Regards from Canada

Hello Alan

I do have some information on your Grt Aunt and her husbands.

Dora was first married to Richard Surfleet Cox secondly to Albert Brewett.

Richard  died 1912 buried Indian Head Saskatchewan has a headstone

Son Richard Cox  died 1947 has a headstone

Mrs Albert Brewitt(Dora) died 1921 and is buried with them has a headstone

John R  Brewett died Nov 14 1990 creamated has a headstone . Do not know his

relationship to Dora perhaps a grandson or grt grandson

Town of Indian Head has no records before 1932 destroyed in a flood.

I have been in touch with the Tubman Funeral Home and they will contact me in

few days with what they can give me on Dora, Richard Jr and  John Brewitt.

They probably will not have any records on Richard Sr as it goes back too far.

I'll be in touch when I hear further news meanwhile I will keep looking.

Any other information that you can provide will be useful. :) :)

Hi Again Alan

I have some great information for you in regards to Dora. Richard and Albert.
Key in  the title of this book; History of Indian Head and District.
You will find it on a website called ourroots. When you pull up the book and its
contents key in Cox name and you will see all the pages pertaing to the name.
Go through each page until you come to the ones with the information on the Cox and Bruett families I think you will be very pleased with what you see.
Saskatchewan has a large amount of this type of history book for various communities
and they have proven to be very helpful.

Happy reading

Hello Alan

I am going home to Saskatchewan early next month and will be staying very near Indian Head. I can go to the cemetery at Indian Head and take pictures of the Cox/Brewett
headstones if you would like them. I have a digital camera and will email them to you.
I will be glad to do this for you. I have had so much help from so many people in my own
searching for ancestors that it will be nice to help others.
