Cambridgeshire parishes bordering Haverhill Suffolk

Hi, I am trying to locate the birth/baptism of Stephen Jopson who married in Haverhill, Suffolk in 1827. As Haverhill borders on Cambridgeshire, I thought I'd try here! Can anyone tell me which parishes in Cambridge border Haverhill? A map would be great! I've tried genuki with no luck and can't find a mp on the net, any help appreciated, thanks, Jo

Hi,

I see that Stephen (age 65, Weaver), Rebecca (35) and daughter Harriet ( are on the 1841 in Haverhill, suffolk. all born in county. Cant find them on the 1851 at present but note that Haverhill now seems to come under Essex. I'm afraid I dont have local knowledge but will keep trying to find them on 1851 or later.

Hi, thanks for that, unfortunately Stephen died in 1846 and Rebecca in 1844, so they aren' on the 1851 (obviously!). I can't find Stephen on the Haverhill baptisms, but if he moved there while young he may think he was born there. That's the straw I'm clutching at for now anyway! Tyhanks, Jo

Only Shudy Camps in Cambridgeshire borders Haverhill but there are a couple of Essex parishes which also border on it.  I have failed to work out which they are.

I noticed that there was a handful of male Jopson contemporaries of Stephen on the 1851 census indicating their births in Helions Bumpstead. Might there be worth a try?

Castle Camps in Cambridge borders Haverhill (3miles)
Helions Bumpsted in Essex is not far too

I have several marriages where men from Haverhill marry women from Castle Camps, and if you can walk there!!

I have the same problem, tri county look ups.

It's awkward, isn't it? At least I've knocked Helions Bumpstead off the list now, so Castle Camps is next! Thanks, Jo
