De BANKE/GREEN/KENNEDY or PHILLIPS

Good Afternoon Folks,

I am attempting to solve a little mystery. Ann and Catherine De Banke, daughters of John De Banke, paper manufacturer of Exeter, married in Belfast. Ann married Thomas Green Phillips in Belfast in 1847 and Catherine married George Kennedy, also in Belfast in 1848. Their father John was at one time the owner of a paper mill in Derbyshire. He inherited this when his father died .. from memory around 1813 - 1814.

I am wondering if George or Thomas may have had relatives in Topsham which is why I would like to know if the surnames Green, Kennedy or Phillips are known in the area. Catherine may have met George when she visited her sister in Belfast. I know nothing about Thomas or George other than the fact they married the De Banke girls and in 1861 Thomas owned a hotel at 28, Castle Lane, Belfast. Is it possible these guys were Devonshire guys?
I would not be at all surprised. The De Bankes are on my maternal side. My paternal grandfather Richard Peake was born in Topsham, Devon.

Just to have  change from researching in Ireland, thought I'd reply to your post here instead - I love Devon, we go there on holiday a lot as we're only an hour from the Devon border here where we live in Dorset.
