Jacob PENROSE

Anyone come across a Jacob PENROSE c1700s somewhere in Cornwall?

On the IGI, under the exact spelling 'Jacob Penrose', there are two in the 1700s christened in Perranzabuloe, one in 1727 and one in 1736.  Father of both of these is also a Jacob.

i could not find jacob but i did come across a few penrose in the 1700s living in cornwall,

It would be good to look at the Parish Registers themselves.

From my marriages CD:

There is a Jacob PENVOSE who married Honner JORY 1st August 1722

And also from the LDS website: He was born Abt 1697; Honner/Honor Abt 1701

The children are identified as:

IGI Batch C052991 Perranzabuloe (See also the other batches for Perranzabuloe)

Children of Jacob PENROSE:

Mary 30th May 1723
Jacob 10th February 1727 (died before 1736?)
John 20th February 1727(When actually born?)
Prudence 28th May 1727
Elizabeth 21st March 1730
Jacob 28th November 1736
Alexander 13th August 1738
William PENVOUS 16th April 1742

There are questions here that may be answered when the
Children of Crestover/Christopher PENROSE are resolved (I think he was a brother).

Elizabeth 3rd August 1713
Hester 12th December 1714 died 4th October 1722
Jone 6th June 1716
Mathias 27th September 1718
Nickles (Nicholas) 9th May 1724

There are extra children of Christopher identified as "PENVOSE".

So a generation closer to the visitations, be it ever so far.

Are your Borlases related to Penroses anywhere? I have an 1871 census record for an Alfred Penrose Borlase living with Jane Penrose (husband John has died) in Barkle Shop, St Agnes, Cornwall. He is listed as a boarder, aged 2. Jane's maiden name was Martin. She has children Mary, Thomas, John, Frederick, Theodore. Jane also had a daughter, who is living with her Aunt Mary T Paull at Church Town in 1871.
