Celebrate - fantastic result!!!
« on: Tuesday 27 June 06 21:56 BST (UK) »
Hi

I put a post on a county board 29 July 2005 for information for the maiden name of my greatgrannys mother. I had a reply today from a Rootschatters 1st post. Their grandfather is my greatgrannys younger brother.

I cannot be more pleased as I have always done lots of work for other people but only gained a few pieces of information for myself. Not that I would complain as I get satisfaction from helping others break brickwalls. But this is so unexpected after nearly a year.

I have alot of information about my greatgranny as she lived until she was 96 and I remember her as I was about 8 when she died. I also have alot about that line of the family and photos of her as an old lady and as a young woman with her husband. I think this Rootschatter also has quite a bit of information for me.

I have seen this happen for others but never thought it would happen for me.

I have always liked Rootschat but I like it even better now. Thanks to all Rootschatters.

Jane

Hi Jane,

So pleased for you. We have just had a break through ourselves thanks to Rootschatters.  My husband has discovered his first cousin in Australia.

It really does feel good when this happens.

EXCELLENT NEWS, Jane!  It also just goes to show that there's never such a thing as a dead thread in cyberspace!

(When I saw the title of this post I thought you were referring to France's victory over Spain tonight!)

cheers

Paul

Hi Jane

We too have had a three great results lately all thanks to Rootschatters - we found a GG Uncle in Canada,  that Grandad who disappeared with his new lover in 1946 ended up in Australia (still waiting to see of he had other kids) and best of all My mum-in-law this week discovered a first cousin of hers that she never knew existed - they are now in regular contact exchanging stories!  Some things are definitely worth waiting for........ ;D

Cheers

Serendipity at work.

This thread occurs on a day when I have discovered that my daughter and her husband have recently become clients of the husband of her never met third cousin. I am dying to tell them all but would hate to jeopordize the business transaction. (Would a disclosed relationship nullify it?) Will have to wait for its conclusion.

Will definitely make a point of meeting the family when next we are in their hometown.
