PR Search for Phebe BUSBY circa 1835
« on: Wednesday 28 June 06 11:02 BST (UK) »
Hello All

Does anyone have access to the Abingdon PR's please and willing to do a search?

Phebe Busby is my g.g.gma and according to various census returns was born in Abingdon about 1835/37.  I believe her parents, again according to census returns, were Charles Busby and Sophia.  Charles and Sophie and family worked and I presume lived on the canals, the other children have different birthplaces.  I just hope they stayed long enough to get them registered somewhere.

Can anyone do an Abingdon search and confirm Phebe for me please?

Regards, Jamys

Not exactly 'registered' but baptised:
1835 22 Feb BUSBY Phoebe Charles & Sophia

They may have been canal folk - but:
1833 3 Feb BUSBY Ann Charles & Sophia

Hello Newburychap

I didn't know until today that there was elder daughter Ann.  In the 1851 census Phebe is the eldest child.  Ann would be about 18  in 1851 if she was baptised around the time of her birth and maybe be in service or even married in 1851.

Your time and effort is much appreciated.
