Can anyone read this?
« on: Wednesday 28 June 06 12:08 BST (UK) »
Hi All

Can you please take a look at the birthplaces on this wedding certificate and tell me if you can read them.  I cannot read the top name, the grooms birthplace and think perhaps the brides (bottom place) may be Buckminster?

I would really appreciate any help.  I do not live in England so am not familiar with your townships.

Thank you

Lones

Hi Lones,
Looks like Buckminster, but it's very small - any chance of a big scan?

They were married here in Australia, Portland to be exact.  But they were both born in England.  The marriage was the 20th Apr 1854.

Thanks Prue

Lones

Sorry I should have mentioned, I have been told he was born in Warwickshire, not sure if that is correct, is there a place in Warwickshire that would fit the top name?

Thanks

Lones - a nasty one to decipher  ???

Would agree with Buckminster and also thought the initial letters of both words look rather similar - wondered if the top word is 'Bently' - perhaps mispelled (there is a Bentley in Warwickshire)  ???

Thanks Clara

That's a though, I have no idea of the towns in Warwickshire, so appreciate your help.  I will see if that yields anything
