Hello mvm,

What denomination were the McLoughlin and Trainor families?

You'll have to rely on Church records as civil registration in Ireland was not introduced until 1864. Non Catholic marriages were registered from 1845 onwards. When registration for BDMS started in 1864 some people didn't bother with the registration for a few years after that date. Keep your fingers crossed that church records still exist.

My (Paternal) GF, John McLOUGHLIN, married Anne TRAINOR in Newry on 24 Aug. 1876.
He is the son of Terence McLOUGHLIN who wed Annie TRAINOR on 9 Jun 1832. (Note last names of women)

Anne TRAINOR is the daughter of John TRAYNOR and Mary WOODS (wed 1850???)

There were RC and McLoughlin's were from Newry and the Trainor/Traynor's were from Derryleckagh.

Cannot trace back any further than that.
Do you have anything to share? Would appreciate any info.

LDS might have microfilmed the local church records. Check their catalogue online at www.familysearch.org and see if they are there. If so, you can order the microfilm from your local LDS library for a small fee to view there.

Thank you for the reply.

Just as soon as we have a break in our weather (snow storm has made Expressway traveling difficult and dangerous) I will get to our LDS Center in Westland, MI where they have ALL (BMD) records on file for immediate viewing for certain time periods.

Again, thank you for taking the time to respond.

You might want to check to see what films your the LDS library actually does have in stock as most have to be ordered (first check catalogue online to see if they've actually filmed the records).

Hi Terence McLoughlin 1832 marriage Aane Trainor is my GGG grandfather on my maternal line, my uncle is Terence Mcloughlin, I haven't been able to find a birth record for Terence, when my uncle did a Dna test it came back as ,99.9% Irish descent..which in my mind rules out that he can to Ireland from Scotland.

Civil registration in Ireland didn't start until 1864 so for earlier dates you need to see if church records survive.
