;D Mick, I believe the brakes were only an optional extra on that model. Great story! ;D
I was just going 'on patrol'. This involved quite a bit of pedalling as we lived on a hill, but I had to do my duty. Poor Grandad, he, I think, had the job of walking behind me to make sure I didn't cause trouble, although I don't remember ever catching him. ;D

Ahh thanks Barry - it was me mam.  I'd been rabble-rousing in teh street all day at my nan's house and I didn't want to go home so I threw a strop and my darling mother preserved it for ever.  LOL.

Anyway, somebody threw the gauntlet of passport photos... c'mon guys don't be shy...

Kazza, what a lovely bride, you brought tears to my eyes - if only one of my brothers had spotted you first!  Twins, they are . . . . and they can both cook - both single - any takers, please, anyone??

Mrs Lizzy,  what a lovely thing to say,   :-[

It is a very flattering photo I can assure you,  I never look like that except when I am getting married.  ;D  Once so far.

You have changed your Coat of arms,  this one is much more colourful,  I like it.  I did like your old motto though.  A mind conscious of right,  I wished it was mine.

Cheers Barry ;D,

Y'know, I've often wondered why I had total brake failure that day,and now I know why,there weren't any >:(

I'm not being cynical (well OK,just a bit),but I'm starting to think that my parents knew it had no brakes and that they wound me up knowing what I would do, thus providing the perfect 'party piece' to amuse their friends ;D

To be honest, although I was done with cars after that,I would have loved to have owned a 'Babe magnet' like the one you had.
See how the ladies react, even today ;D Respect. 8)

Mick ;)

Newbie,

While you were on holiday, RootsChat started a new thread: The Lighter Side, which has been taken literally.

All of a sudden, all these serious, (dare I say it ?) somewhat staid seeming, sometimes even boring (I'm going to get lynched !)  geneaolgists have been going crazy, and discovering that they (still) have a sense of humour, and that this is a great place to show it !  :P

I think this thread is GREAT !,  so come and join us !

Anything you don't know (on the technical side) just ask !
