First World War 1914-1918   90th Anniversary of Battle of the Somme
On July 1, 1916 at 7:30 am, tens of thousands of soldiers stormed toward the German trenches in northern France. The charge, along a 25-mile front, was intended as a quick push. It ended up lasting over four months and killing more than 320,000 soldiers.

Have you been watching those descendants who are doing a march to the Somme?  BBC morning I think.  They are dressed in the uniforms, carrying the gear, eating the meals and staying in tents.  The French have union jacks flying.  Interesting watching them.
