Have you lost an ancestor?

I have just received this letter this morning I dont know who or where its from. :o
My family name is Thompson does or can anyone find out about the person in the letter :D
Thompson, Jones, Robinson, Jackson, Reed, Edington, Watson, Chisholm, Murrey, Hall, Boggin-Northumberland.<br />Crass, Johnson, Watson-Durham<br />Bigley-Kent<br />Edington-Scotland<br />Jennings-Ireland

I may be right off track here, but might this be "advertising" - the sort that inserts your name into a generic letter?

Well the handwriting doesn't look like a circular, and it was posted somewhere in Wales  ??? D oyou have any Thompson relatives in the Shrewsbury/ Welsh border counties area, Brian?

The only Francis Thompson I can find on the IGI, Shropshire is:

C033311
Little Wenlock, bpt. 7 July 1780 son of Richard Thompson and Elizabeth.

No others around that time but some in Warwickshire and Worcestershire.

As far as I know my Thompson come from Leeds & Yorkshire back to 1670

Be interesting to know if any other people named Thompson have also received this?

Then of course it may well be someone  who knows you are into family research, has found it and knowing your home address has posted it on to you but not wanting to be asked too many questions hasn't put any note with it.
