Jericho,
I know this is an older thread but I am a newbie and have only just found it.

I too have Moody relatives from the Lockerly area. My Hester moody was married at Sherfield English in 1797, where I believe she was baptized in1775. I have 2 of her siblings baptized at East Dean. James in 1764 and Pheobe 1766. Their parents were Isaac and Martha married at East Dean in 1763. Do these fit into your family?

Hi vbond
I think we may both be looking into the same family. My ancestor is Stephen Moody, born 1769, son of Isaac Moody of Sherfield English.  I also have his brother Jesse 1768 Sherfield English.  I've not been able to uncover which Isaac Moody this is.  3 possibilities are 1727 Titchfield, 1738 East Dean or 1727 Corsham.  All roughly the same distance from Sherfield English.  Could you help with the East Dean connection please?

HI, There is an East Dean about 5-6 miles from Sherfield English, which would probably be the most likely location of Isaac.

I'm presuming the East Dean you mention is the one near Chichester?

Vbond is a relative of my other half. They both descend from Hester Moody.  I haven't really looked into the Moody part of the family.
