Hi Stanley, are you still around?

My wife's Maslen/Maslin ancestors come from Marden & Stanton St Bernard, is there any chance ther may be connections with yours.

I have Maslens from All Cannings going back to ca. 1600 - one line I've got stuck on is Mary Maslen who married Joseph Coward on 19 May 1751. They had a daughter called Mary born 6 July 1765 who married John Hibberd in 1793. I'd love to push the Coward and Maslen lines back further if anyone can help.

Hi, welcome to RootsChat

I have two Mary Maslens, which I don't think are yours, but here are  the details anyway because you never know.

Mary Maslen b c1716 @ Stanton St Bernard, f. John Maslen (Maslyn), m. Esther (nee Smith).
Siblings:  Ann b.1704, John b. 1705, Ann b. 1709, William b. 1710, Elizabeth b. 1715. All born Stanton St Bernard.

Mary Maslen b. 1742 @ Stanton St Bernard, f. William Maslen (sister of Mary above), m. Ann (nee Pyle).
Siblings:  Elizabeth b. 1740, William b. 1746, Anna b.1748, Robert b. 1751, John b. 1754, Thomas b. 1757. All born Stanton St Bernard.

Like I said, I don't think they help but you never know.

Cheers

Bob

Thanks Bob - I can't immediately tie them in with my Maslens, but hopefully at some point I'll find a connection :)

Hi all posters on this list

Sorry i have not been in touch but i never receive any notification of postings despite pressing the NOTIFY button-for some reason this is a problem i have always had on this site-obviously i must do something wrong but cant work out what

Anyway i confirm i have a large tree which covers every name mentioned in Naaman's message dated 22 Jul 2007 and also in Rochdalians messages

As we are talking many thousands of names direct communication is probably called for

Stanley-

Stanley and all,

There is a very extensive tree containing Maslens and their various descendants and cousins on the World Tree website :) My branch at least is almost completely correct to what I have (except for the Sadlers), so it seems to be a reliable source and quite well documented, although I've not studied it all. It may have additional info on there that none of you have so far:

I am interested in finding out more about these families:

Branthwayt(e): Thrapston, Northamptonshire
Branwhite: Suffolk and Essex
Flude: London
Godfrey: Hertfordshire and Romford, Essex
Gregory: Derbyshire and Shoreditch, London
Lowen: Epping in Essex
Matty: Tewkesbury  in Glucestershire and Essex
Mills; Hackney, London
Monro: Berwickshire, Hertfordshire, London
Oliver: from Essex
Sadler: Shoreditch and Hackney
Shorten: Belchamp Walter, Essex
Tickell: recorded in Shoreditch

Thanks for that link.  I have only had a quick look up to now and I think I have a query already.  I will spend some time tomorrow on it.  Is it ok to use the email address on the website or should I post on RootsChat?

Cheers
