Family tree Maker - which version?

Hi, I've been given a copied version of Family Tree Maker and I cant for the life of me find out what version its sposed to be or evemn if it is a full version...all it says on the printed copied front cover is
*installation
*family finder
Family tree Maker
when i got About Family Tree Maker on the program it says Family Tree Maker 2005 and on system info it says:
Family Tree Maker 2005 (12.0.345 SP1) August 20, 2004...

Im wary to use this program as i dont know if itsd the full version
Does anyone have any ideas?

Hi

If you export a GEDCOM file using FTM and open that output GEDCOM using Notepad the first few lines should tell you what version you have.  My old FTM program ouput the following:

0 HEAD
1 SOUR FTW
2 VERS 6.00
2 NAME Family Tree Maker for Windows
2 CORP The Learning Company, Inc., Banner Blue Division
3 ADDR 39500 Stevenson Pl.  #204
4 CONT Fremont, CA 95439
3 PHON (510) 794-6850
1 DEST FTM

So VERS = 6.00 or version 6
