Hi Nicola
What makes you think there is a Devon connection for this family?

In Bristol in 1901 there is a Frederick W Hallett 30 Bricklayer, wife Ellen 27 Daughter Alice 2 Son Frederick W 7months but they are all born Bristol. Happy to post full details if you think they might be yours.

Thanks for your reply. Ellen Rose Northam was born in 1899 in Awliscombe Devon. I have her in the 1901 census living with her family at beat close cottage. I know she belonged to the salvation army and married Frederick Hallet and they lived in Bristol.

Regards, Nicola

Sorry I got confused  I thought the marriage was in 1899 :-[ ???
So they married circa 1919? Possibly in Devon? But you know nothing about Frederick is that right?
Have you tried looking here?

The Complete BMD images are free to search at the moment. You don't have to suscribe just register I think.

Good luck
