Spalding Rope company:
has anyone heard of this company? my mother [nee Spalding] mentioned this company a few times, but so far i have found nothing to verify.

just to say i'm still looking and am refreshing the topic as its been 3months since it was posted.

Of all the data / links i've been able to suss out, still nothing on this company

Hi, was the rope company actually in Spalding as we have relatives in the mid 1860's (Hames) living in Spalding who were Rope Makers

Hi,
There was a rope walk (long building where rope was made) in Pinchbeck Road, Spalding that belonged to Elsom & Co. but as I remember it was used as a seed warehouse by them. Spalding was a thriving shipping port in the 1800's before the railways came and people living on Commercial Road were working in trades such as rope making at that time.
