I am after information on a James Johnston* Beattie.
It is reputed to be that he is/was a grandson to Ebenezer Beattie

The only information that I have is that he was born C:-1893 in Maxwelltown,Kirkcudbright.

If any could shed some light on him I am & would be greatful

His birth record:

GROS Ref -  882-000125 

11th September 1892, 2 am, 9 Kings Street, Maxwelltown, District of Troqueer
James Johnstone BEATTIE

Parents - Ebenezer Beattie, General labourer and Sarah, maiden surname Johnstone. They married Dec 31st 1886, Dumfries.

You could get their marriage cert and details of their parents. The birth, marriage and death registrations, Old parish Records transcripts and the 1841 - 1901 censuses from

www.scotlandspeople.gov.uk

It's pay to view but very reasonably priced.
