William John Conroy was born approx 1857 in Belfast.

He came to New Zealand about 1880 possibly with a younger sister called Ada Conroy.

He was a Bootmaker.
His father a Hairdresser

I would love to know his parents names and if he had any other siblings.

There are no Conroys listed in the 1843 or 1861 Directories (these sre on the Lennon Wylie website) and there are none listed in Griffith's Valuation for Co. Antrim 1861-2.

Irish Ancestors Surname Search shows that Conroy was not too common in the north of Ireland ... Co. Armagh 10; Co. Derry 1; Co. Down 4 and Co. Tyrone 29. It's possible they could have been living with another family in Belfast or in a property that was not worth valuing.
