Dear allibaker, Hi there.  Thank you so much for 1841 census lookup.  I actually did have that one.  I have the 1841 and 1851 census.

Now it looks like my ancestor Ann Priscilla Wheeler (daughter of Ruth Bancroft) had 7 siblings (crikey), would like to find out more on them if poss.

WHEELER children:
1.Matilda
2.Martha
3.Simon ... deceased
4.Frederick
5.Ann Priscilla - married 1856 emigrated to Australia with spouse William AMOR
6.Jane
7.John James
8.Robert

Thanks for your post.

Hi Ally
Just trying to tie up some loose ends although the BIGGEST loose end still remains Ruth Bancroft.   I can confrm the baptism of Ruth Willshire 19 Aug 1804 and her parentage from the parish records of Westwood.

Unfortunately there were no marriage records that I could find in Westwood for the first decade of 19th century.   Please note that there were no BMD records in this country before 1837, only the parish records.

I answer to your other questions...........

1.   Yes it is normal to write WIL Westwood for Westwood, Wiltshire.

2.   If you want information on siblings etc just post a request(s) on this site.

3.   Most if not all churches had cemeteries in the 1830s.   This was before most places had municipal cemeteries.   Again post a request(s) and I'm sure someone will look up burial records.

4.   A good idea to get in touch with the Wilts Fam Hist mob.

I'll keep looking for the elusive Ruth  ;D

Cheers Dave

Dear Dave, Hi there...just to say 'thank you' seems so small, but I do mean it sincerely.  :D

Regards,
Alison.
