Hi all,

I know we all like a challenge but  I downloaded a certificate from SP which was even more illegible than Jacki's.  Rather than strain her eyes I have advised her to do what I did, and  contact SP who will send a perfectly legible copy.

Isles.

Well I got as far as the first column  :o :

6th or 9th June 1863 at St Mary's Chapel, xxxxx, Dundee, after banns according to the forms of the Roman Catholic Church

Then the second column threw me ? mark ? Derek Gittins......................

So, I think it is a do what Isles says .

Hi Jacki

Follow Isles' sensible advice and you will get a much better copy quite quickly from SP.

I have seen worse certificates but that defied all efforts using negative images, and all the other tools in the Irfan box.

I agree with Gadgets translation: it's not Matrimony it is After banns according to the terms of the Roman Catholic Church.

I think the Bride's name Mary McGlone. So parents are also McGlone.
