Welsh Towns - decipher image
« on: Thursday 13 July 06 06:07 BST (UK) »
Can anyone please help with the Welsh Place names on this 1851 Census.

The first line is not relevant to my family. It's N Wales, Flintshire. then for next two lines the ditto refers to N Wales , What does the second and third lines say? Fourth line is Liverpool

I would say the second line says "Llansannan", a village between Abergele and Llanrwst. It used to be in Denbighshire.

Not sure about the third one though. There is a place near Holywell called Pabell - it could be that with a bit of imagination.

What strikes me though is that for the first one, the emunerator entered the county, but for the second and third, the town. Strange.

The first one on the list is the previous family.

It's possible at least one member of the family is from Caernarvonshire.

The third one looks a bit like Isabel to me, so Pabell looks promising.

Hi

I agree with Llansannan but I believe it is Babell near Holywell not Pabell but it still needs imagination. Perhaps the name changed but I did not think so.
