How to attach part of a PDF file?
« on: Thursday 13 July 06 11:54 BST (UK) »
Dear All,

I'm sorry if this question has been answered before - if so I'm not finding it. I have an old handwritten family tree on A4 paper of which I would like to attach a section (about 1/3 of one page) to a RC post. I've scanned it and e-mailed it to myself so I now have the whole document as a PDF file.  I have only Adobe Reader (7), not Photoshop. Reader does not let me save it as any other sort of file, nor crop/compress it so far as I can tell.

I've never posted any sort of image on RC before, so I apologise for my ignorance. ::)

Acrobat reader lets you Copy graphics selections (provided the security of the riginal allows it)

You can then past into a grapics program and save.

You will need to upload to a website/rootschat webspace

You can the reference the URL in a RC post (use the pcture in a frame icon

Many thanks, Bob. I've managed to save it into Microsoft Publisher and now I guess I just have to wait until my Rootchat webspace is up and running.  How complicated!

Thanks again  :)
