!841 & 1851 census: Lusty family
« on: Friday 14 July 06 11:10 BST (UK) »
I would be grateful if someone could find my
ancestor Thomas Lusty and his family in the
1841 and 1851 census.

Thomas Lusty b. 1789 Limehouse, and wife
Sarah Elizabeth Lusty b. 1789 Stepney.
They had 5 children that I know of.
Thomas b. 1811
Sarah Eliza b. 25 August 1813
Two more daughters, then my ggg grandfather
John,  b. in Limehouse in 1824.

In the 1850s the family lived at 2 Victory Row,
Mile End Old Town. and Thomas's  occupation
was, Ropemaker.

I am wondering if there are any of the children
still living at home at the time of the 1841 and
1851 census.

Regards

Gertie

Thanyou so much for the census information
your help was much appreciated.

I have an old record that has John Lusty
aged 27 years, occupation Rigger, also
living at No 2 Victory Row in 1851.
Perhaps it should be No 22 Victory Row.

Would it be possible to have a look to see if
the old record given to me was wrong.

John Lusty's wife was Mary Ann b. 1827.
in Stepney.

Gertie

Yep - they are there too - but no house numbers are shown in the census schedules ...

next to door to Thomas ....

John Lusty 27 HEAD Rigger Limehouse
Mary Ann 24 Wife Stepney
John Richard 2 son Stepney
Mary 5mons dau Stepney

WAIT - what I thought were headcount scrawls offset in the column are in fact House numbers - the Road was enumerated 'backwards, and both your families are in number 2 Victory Row !
