I was reading the thread about Rose Blower and I was wondering how sure you are of her last name.  I have read the obituaries of some of the people in my line and people's names were often not reported correctly or misspelled.  I know someone found the name Rus for you but perhaps you should consider alternate spellings.

From http://www.islandnet.com/ocfa/search.php
You can search the Woodland Cemetery in Wentworth County by first names.  Rose brought up Rose Rees which is very similar to what you have found.  Her cemetery reference is HM-354.  Also at that same reference is William R (Bud) Rees.

On the 1911 census for Hamilton is the following
http://automatedgenealogy.com/census11/View.jsp?id=29392&highlight=23&desc=1911+Census+of+Canada+page+containing+William+Rees

You can't be sure that it is the same person but if you go to the home page of the first link there should be contact addresses to write to for information on the Rose Rees gravesite - possibly giving her maiden name.

Also you can find addresses for Rees in the Hamilton area if none of the letters you sent out to Rus surnames prove to have a family connection.

Thank you so much for trying to help.  Rose's maiden name was Blower.  I obtained the name Rus from the notification of her mothers death (Rose Rus daughter).  As there is no family left I think I have gone as far as I can.

Have also come up with another surnname...and there were some around Wentworth....
Riis....the two "i" s would surely look like a "u" if not dotted clearly?

Just a thought....? J.J.

I do realize that Rose's maiden name was Blower.  What I was suggesting is that perhaps the person buried as Rose Rees might possibly be your Rose and that you could find that out by checking the particulars of her grave.

It might be a false lead but, for me, the similarity of last names, the same first name, burial in the same cemetery as Thomas and Elizabeth would make me take a second look at it.  My husband's grandmother was a Lachappelle but her headstone was misspelled as Lachapple - anything is possible with names in genealogy!

Look at the census image for Rees...It could be read as Rus...

Rose would not be on the 1911 census because the family did not emigrate to Canada until the middle to late thirties.  Thanks again

O.K....Now there are lots of queries on Rose, which I have pointed out, and you  need to pay attention to answers
on here...That family in the 1911 would be of the person whom Rose may have married!!!!...please go back and
read through your postings, as other people helping you are being far more thorough than you are....and this is
YOUR family... J.J.
