I just wanted to add to JohninAus's view regarding the origin of Harriet 1832/3.

I don't believe that John's wife in 1841 was Harriet - I think there was only ever Margaret.

Regarding the fate of (the person I believe to be) Harriet's mother Susan SHEARSMITH ... perhaps the Susanna SHEARSMITH 16 Sept 1835 buried at Caistor - age given as 2 in the NBI - was really aged 20 something.  Perhaps there was an ink blot on the register, causing a bad transcription.  Although it proves nothing, I can't see the baptism of such a child.
