John Hughes 1821 Pixley

I am looking for any confirmation of John Hughes father James hughes. On 1881 census he states born in Pixley he married a Mary turner on 29/06/1873 in Little Marcle I can fine nothing on his birth or his death. I have looked in the parish records but no trace of him.
