John Campbell 1826
« on: Friday 28 July 06 06:08 BST (UK) »
John Campbell born about 1826 in Scotland.
He was on 1871 UK Census in Liverpool with his Wife Mary Ann Louisa Campbell nee Usher, Son John D born "on the Sea" aged 6 and Daughter Elizabeth B Campbell aged 3 years born Liverpool.
Can anyone help me with additional information before or after 1871?

Hi,

Here's the marriage:

Jan-mar 1864

Campbell John
Usher Mary Ann Louisa

West Derby District, Liverpool, Lancashire.

Married at St Mary's Edghill, Liverpool

According to IGI, the exact date of marriage was 03 March 1864 and her birth was around 1834, Liverpool.
Elizabeth Baxter Campbell was born 29th July 1867, christened 4th August 1868 at St Peters, Liverpool, Lancashire.

I am unable to find them on the 1861, or 1881 and 1891 census, but I will keep looking.
On the Census info you have, what does it say Johns Profession is??

Kind Regards,

Colleen

Hi Colleen,
Thanks for your interest and my apology for late reply.
Have since obtained a copy of John Duncan Campbell's birth aboard the "Bon Accord" Liverpool Official No: 43123.
John D was born on 24th November 1864 to Mary and John, the ship's captain.
Now trying to find details re the John Campbell born July 1826 at Longleys,Scotland.
Can you help at all?
Kind regards

What is the evidence for John Campbell being born at Longleys, Perthshire?

There is no parish called L*ngley* in Perthshire.

There are Longleys in the parishes of Coupar Angus and Kinnoull, and a Langley in the parish of Scone, as well as many others in other counties.

What are the name and occupation of John Campbell's father according to his marriage certificate?
Never trust anything you find online (especially submitted trees and transcriptions on Ancestry, MyHeritage, FindMyPast and other commercial web sites) unless it's an image of an original document - and even then be wary because errors can and do occur.
