What's in a name?
« on: Friday 28 July 06 17:04 BST (UK) »
Hi all  :)  My grandfather who we all knew as Idris, has his name shown on his birth certificate as Edris.  Which is the incorrect spelling ? He lived all his life in Aberdare and was always called Iddy -- so I am guessing Edris is wrong .... but you never know.  Mind you my name is Kevin and whenever I was in wales I was called Kelvin by all and sundry  :-[ --- which one am I ?????? ???

Hi there,

Registrars are only human...(& therefore fallible...:-)

My guess is that the Registrar made a spelling mistake(!).
