Hi Allan if you go to www.lancashirebmd,org.uk you will find a birth for a Martha Annie Ellis in 1898, also a Martha Ellis in 1901. You can search marriages & deaths too.

20/11/06.....just returned from aunty irene aged 83....new info as follows....martha ann ellis  born 20th sep 1898 in manchester.........father  joseph ellis....mother  martha ellis nee hartley....other known children   virginia ellis   alice ellis    other unknown sons/daughters......going to 1901 census to see if i can find them......regards....allan

great news....martha ann ellis born 20 sep 1898 in LIVERPOOL not manchester....married percy anson 1917 in Liverpool.....martha anns parents were   Joseph T Ellis b 1858......mother  MARTHA ANN HARTLEY b 1861 Dunham Massey.....been on lancashire bmd and only one possible martha ann hartley 1861 registered at Accrington......is dunham massey in this area??...regards...and thanks to everyone for their time and effort....sorry to mislead you all ,but the info given was from my 83yr old aunty....she got it a bit mixed up.....thanks....allan...update again...dunham massey is in cheshire ,just outside altringham....going to check cheshire bmd....regards...allan

thanks ali.....went for marriage cert on monday...received it by post tuesday....now have martha anns parents....john hartley barker and martha collins......martha collins parents...abraham and martha.....if you go to posting for john hartley barker on cheshire posting it`ll give you latest update...bit stuck on johns birth and parents.....regards...allan
