Hi

George Anderson b. March circa 1863

1871 Living Doddington - RG10/1609 Folio 58 Page 11

Benwick Road
John Anderson, hd, mar, 29, ag lab, b. March
Ann, wife, 30, b. March
George,s,  8, scholar, b. March
Emma,d,  6, scholar, b. March
Charles, s, 1, b. Doddington

I can't find a marriage for them on FreeBMD though, so can't tell Ann's maiden name. Nor does there appear to be one on the Cambridge FreeBMD.

I've beenchecking up on the births of the three children for a birth cert ref. The cert would give the mother's maiden name. Unfortunately it looks as if they might not have been registered or are not on FreeBMD. If you go to www.ancestry.co.uk and check through their Free Beta BMD for each quarter of the approx years of birth, you might find them. You could the norder the certificate and find the mother's name.
Unfortunately not all births were registered.

Hi

I did have a good look for the family - together and individually on the 1881 but couldn't find anything definite  :(

It might be worth you having a look yourself on the LDS website www.familysearch.org

The 1881 census index is free there and you might have more 'feel' for the right ones than I do.

How sure are you that the 1901 marriage was his first? Do you have the certificate which would describe his marital status as bachelor or widower?

In 1891 there's a George Anderson head married 27 platelayer born March, wife Amelia 24 born March and children Mary J 7 scholar b March and William 5 scholar b March, living at 8 Gladstone Cottages, Woodstone (which is only 7-8 miles from Thorney)

Regards

David

So was his father John, probably the family Gadget found in 1871? What was his address when he married?

I still can't find him in 1881 or 1891 but I'm still trying

I think, yogi, that if you do have the parents' names and any other info, it would help if you told us. We could then attempt to give you more help.
