Kings of Pewsey
« on: Monday 31 July 06 21:47 BST (UK) »
Hi,

Looking for parents of Charlotte King.  Charlotte was born in 1818 in or near Pewsey.

Married to David Baden on 25th Feb 1837, she popped out 8 Children before passing away in March 1875, in Pewsey.

I would love to hear from anybody with info on her parents or other family connections.

Thanks,

Russell.

Hi Russell
Regret to say that I was not able to find a mention of Charlotte King, either baptism or marriage, in Pewsey.   Perhaps the events took place in a parish close by.

Do you know where she was married?   Unfortunately she was married just before BMD records came in, so no certificate.

I see the 1851 census shows them both coming from Pewsey.   I'll recheck both in a few days.

Cheers Dave

Dave,

She's a slippery character, as you say, no record of births or marriages in Pewsey at all.  It could be that she was born just up the road in Wilcot?  But that still doesn't explain the lack of marriage records.  There is nothing on the IGI either.

There are always a few that get away, Russell.   I'm stalking a couple in Castle Combe/Biddestone/North Wraxall at the moment.   Just can't seem to track her down.

I'll have a broader look for you next time, but without knowing the parish it's a bit hit and miss.

Cheers Dave
