Maiden/Williams, Bedwellty
« on: Tuesday 01 August 06 12:57 BST (UK) »
Hello,  I am trying to find a Maiden ancestor of mine but I am having no luck at all,  in 28 Sept 1907 a Robert Henry Maiden married a Janett Williams in Bedwellty,  On the certificate both of Janett's parents were witness's William Humphrey Williams and a Lucy Ann Williams,  I have gone back quite far on this family but not on Robert H. Maiden, His father a Arthur Maiden was deceased at the time of the marriage.

What I would like hopefully is if someone can have a look at the census for me to see if Robert H. Maiden was living in Monmouth at the time of the 1901 census, I have had a quick look but I can not find him,  there is a possibility that Maiden is not spelt the same as I have spelt it.  Robert was born about 1881  according to his age on the certificate, but where he was born I do not know.

Also I have the family living in Church Street at the time of the marriage, apparently Robert lived with Janett & her family before they were married.

Thank you for what ever help anyone can give me.  I will be very grateful.

Thank you Rhian

Hello Welsh Lady,

Thank you very much for looking for me, I appreciate it very much,  I have seen this information before & this is the only family that I can connect him to but when I tried looking for his birth date & all the rest of the family I couldn't come up with anything, they are not down on the Freebmd index, why I don't know.  In the 1901 census he is no where to be found or the rest of his family, I have no answers as to where they could have gone, I was kind of hoping that they were in Monmouthshire, I know later on they moved to Penrhiwceiber near Mountain Ash, that is where  I am from.

Thank you once again for your help.

All the best Rhian

Hi,

There is this marriage,

Elizabeth MAIDEN  Sep Q  1893 Bridgend  v.11a  p.974

other names on page,

Patrick CLARKE
Thomas BAILEY
Amelia Sarah GRIFFITHS

In 1901 I can see an Amelia S and Thomas BAILEY living in Bettws, Glamorgan, and this couple,

1901 RG13/5004 f.31  p.4  Lianwanno, Glamorgan
Town: Abercynan
13 Gertrude St

Patrick CLARKE  Head  38  Colliery Labourer Undergd  Ireland
Elizabeth          Wife   48                                      Lancashire Barrow in Furness

I wonder if either/both of these is Elizabeth  :-\ It would be nice if at least the marriage was her as then you could hopefully find her maiden name.

Regards
Daisy

Oops sorry forgot the year, put in above 1893  :-[ :)

Hi again,

There is this birth,

Jane MEYDEN  Dec Q  1883  Chepstow  v.11a  p.5

I can't see a death for her or find a likely match in the 1891 census other than the Jane and family found by Welsh Lady.

Daisy
