Of course I will, Sue...just wasn't sure how much information I can give on this on Rootschat...am I allowed to include details of property,  and causes of death?

None of the people are living.

I was happy to be able to make a contribution to someone else's search.

Sorry...didn't mean to seem a spoilsport...just erring on the side of caution.

Cheers

Elsie

Hi Elsie,
It is my  belief that  there is no harm in posting cause of death unless you think it is unusually  contraversial or sensitive.
[As I said, there are sometimes good reasons to reserve info for the private system.]
As to property details.  It would  be inappropriate if there were living descendants still occupying a specific address that you posted.  But i think to say 'used to live in such such STREET is fine.
I am sure I will be 'sorted out' if I am wrong!!! Hee Heee

Well found Elsie!!
Have you been looking at rates books to discover this?

[Can't believe how unreasonable some hubbies can be!!Dinner!!!  so trivial!]
Lots of those Stevens names are at Bendigo cemeteries.
would be a lovely outing for the connections!

Dear Sarra, Thank you for the info on the 1871 Census; it certainly looks like my Stevens family. You're  obviously not looking for them on freeCEN. I have no idea if/when John and Anne came to Oz, or when any of the family arrived, and that is what I really want to know, especially Richard.
On Richard's marriage certificate of 1882, his father John is listed as deceased, but not his mother. She was mistakenly listed as Ann Murton! I have no idea where/when his father died.
Many thanks, once again. Regards Irene
