Hi Jackie

Sorry we haven't been able to help you so far on this one.

Have you made any progress,  or do you have any further details that could help someone to find what you are looking for?

Look forward to hearing from you.

Hi Jackie,

I'm Hugh Gorman's grandson (one of four). His date of birth is 1888 and Peter's is 1877 (fought in Boer War and WW1 where he was injured.) An interview in 1970 is on file in the Imperial War museum. Is Jackie O'Gorman your real name? I thought we were the only O Gormans. Co-incidently Jackie O'Gorman is my wife's name.

Are you Martin's grandaughter? The only person I ever heard mention Gormican was him. I'm not sure this is correct.

There is one part of the census that intrigues me. My great grandmother is aged 60yrs in 1911. Three of the children are aged 12,8 and 5yrs.....

Hi

I recently located a headstone in Durrow graveyard with the inscription "in memory of the Gormagan Family Kildangan". We were very surprised as we had never hear of that name before but we are the only Gorman's in Kildangan. Has anybody any information on this ???
Thanks
Paula

Realise this correspondence goes back a bit.  hope someone picks it up.  I have just started researching my great grandmother's family.  Her name was Catherine ( Kate ) O Gorman born in Kings County Birr - I think, around 1851.  She probably came to England late 1860's, she and her sister Mary both married in Liverpool, Norwegian sailors, Kate  married Julius Olsen Hafstad and Mary married  Magnus? Larsen.  Wondering if these names mean anything to anyone else researching O Gorman.  I have a lot of information about the Olsens in Liverpool, but know nothing about Kate's Irish O Gorman roots.  Help, information, advice , greatly appreciated.
Jefferys- Wiltshire & Jersey.  O Gorman- Birr Offaly & Liverpool, Olsen Hafstad - Norway & Liverpool, Wall- Wicklow, Smith- Dublin
