Chisholm of Nairn - Lookup
« on: Wednesday 02 August 06 19:58 BST (UK) »
I have an ancestor who joined the Army in 1799, His name was Daniel Chisholm and he was born in Nairn around 1780. He spent 25 years in the army before being discharged.

Does anyone have any information on Chisholms in Nairn or have any idea of how I can find any information?

Thanks

Mick

The I.G.I. has an entry for Daniel Chisholm born 22 Dec 1780 and baptised 23 Dec 1780 Nairn.  His parents are Hugh Chisholm and Marjory Lamb.  Daniel had a sister Isabel born 15 Oct 1795 and baptised 18 Oct 1795 Nairn.  I couldn't find the parents' marriage.

A day ago :
Having seen this newspaper article about Nairn genealogy I passed it on to a person who has the surname CHISHOLM in her family tree.
Within an hour or two , back came this reply :

WOW!!! This is incredible - thank you so so much - I'm going to email Kim and pre order the book. I can't thank you enough for letting me know :)
