Hi Genni

I have just realised that you asked for the death of Catherine Hickey to look in Melbourne newspapers. Sorry it has taken me so long to get back to you. It was Oct 22 1930.

Cheers

Thanks to Sashar and her marriage information I was able to find John Carroll's non-bio father's (who is actually Patrick James Carroll) marriage. And I am sad to report that the Elizabeth Ellen that adopted my ggf was not actually his aunt.

Her name was Elizabeth Ellen Mitchem and her parents were John Joseph and Elizabeth Mitchem. They were married in Ballarat on 14th July1888 which is about 1 1/2 months after my ggf was born. So this leads me to beleive that my ggf was not given away at birth.

Thanks for the help and the great lead!

Hi Genni

Thanks for that. Yes I did find that and I bought the image of the certificate to see if it was the same Kate Harrison but the ages do not match up on the certificate. I think that Kate Harrison was a little younger than mine.

Thanks!

Hi Jenn

On the marriage certificate I have it states that he was actually born in East Ballarat to John and Mary Carroll.

He was 26 at the time of his marriage which was 14 July 1888.

Cheers
