Hi AJ and Genni

Glad Genni found that for you AJ as I  know very little about WA records - I have noticed some  online records do go past 1905 - perhaps they have updated the database but not the description.

Did you look for the Roberts marriage Genni?

Wow - for being in Scotland AJ - I would love to be there. It would be interesting to visit LDS there - simply to find out if they keep Oz indexes locally or if you have to order them in.  The only way to check Qld after 1914 is via fiche & I never know whether to tell UK folks they will be at the LDS.

Have you been to new Register House - ahhh - I'm getting envious  ;D   ;D

Hi Trish

I'm at work so unable to check Vic records, but no marriage record in WA.

I used the reverse marriage index for WA.

AJ
Can you give me the date of Death, I'll check the death notices in the Melb newspapers.

Cheers

Genni

Hi Genni

I have never heard of that index - guess I should read the sticky threads and find out where I should be looking for information  :D Many thanks - I have one family branch worth checking there.

I'll have a quick look at the Vic index

enjoy the day

This may be it

Edwin Hy Roberts (born Dunedin) married Cath Harrison(born Rmond)  1897 - Reg 7604

There is an Edwin Henry born Rmond 1873 but presumably not this man.

Possible Vic death  Edwin Roberts (no Hy given) died 1910 Pt Melb Ref 3019
parents Wm Roberts and Jean Thomas Age 49

I could find no children in Vic

Trish

Hi Trish and Genni

Sorry guys I must of been sleeping while you were doing all this searching for me! Thank You very much. I have found and downlaoded the marriage certificate for Catherine Harrison and Edwin Roberts and like you could not find any children. I am stoked that you found his death as I could not get anywhere with that.
I have also found an address for Robert Hickey in 1915 in West Perth - but cannot locate him after that.

I think I have come accross something even more dramatic. My Great Grandfather's non biological mothers name was Elizabeth Ellen Carroll and i have just noticed that the elder sister of Catherine is named Elizabeth Ellen Harrison - so I am trying to find a marriage for Elizabeth to see if it is the correct link.

I am in Aberdeen at the moment in Scotland - and am loving it! I havent had a chance to get to the family history centre as yet but i have been told that they do order alot of things in from other centres around the world. I will go in and check it out and keep you posted on what Oz records they can get a hold of etc.

Thanks Again

Hi AJ

They had quite a large family - I assume you have all the details, but ask if you want any. What a lovely ending if it was the sister who adopted the babe. The families will all join together again  ;D

The birth record I have does say Ellen Elizabeth Harrison - but probably the same person.
