I am sure we are not alone in spending a lot of time on a hobby and at least this one doesn't mean spending lots of time drinking, swearing and thumping each other!!!!!!

Well if it does go on rootschat, I have missed out

Kerry, if it does go on then I can cope with the written blows, but not the physical ones, all in the name of sport/hobby

Anyway I keep trying to get my lot involved in my hobby!  It's not my fault they are not interested in their history.

There's only so many football injuries one person can suffer

ther is and old saying, " you can choose your friends but are stuck with your family "
by finding distant rellies, you/they can choose to be friends with each other, thereby being close because you want to be, not because you are expected to be.

Stephen, it's a good thought and a true saying.

I think we all feel a certain affinity with one or two of the ancestors we are researching.  I wonder if we had the chance to meet them would we feel the same?
