Marriage lookup pllllease (Modified)
« on: Saturday 05 August 06 21:18 BST (UK) »
Please I am hoping someone can help. I have been looking for my Grandmothers birth for 2 years and People on here helped me a lot but still could not find it. I sent for the birth certificate of one of her "sisters" which we found on 1901 census to get her Mother's maiden name. I cannot find a marriage between her mother and father. :'(

Mother was Sarah Trim, Father was Thomas Jeffery.

Please can someone look and check that I have not gone blind. :o

I have not see your other threads so am not sure what information you have but I was concerned that you are not sure that this is the correct census entry.    Do you have a marriage certificate for your grandmother?  I assume that confirms that her father is Thomas.  Was he alive?   (Finding his death might confirm his age which you can check against the 1901 entry).   Who were the witnesses?  The possibilities for variant spellings for Jeffery are very high so you could be chasing the wrong line.
Just a thought.  Ignore it if you are happy with the guess at the census.

Hi Andrea

Yes I have my Grandmothers 2 marriage certificates. The first in Exeter Devon in Feb 1911 the witnesses were the same surname as the Groom. The address where Sarah (my Grandmother was living) the householder was Thomas Jeffery.

The 2nd marriage was in East Stonehouse Plymouth Devon and the witnesses do not hold any clue's.

It was through these certificates that I found her Father's name.

I have searched under every variant of Jeffery I can think of but still get knowhere.

I got the birth certificate for the daughter Mary from the 1901 census that is how I have the Mother's maiden name as Trim.
