1861 & 1871 census REQUEST Somerset/Devon please
« on: Saturday 14 February 04 12:43 GMT (UK) »
Hello, I think I have finally found my great grandmother's family, but need the two census look-ups to prove it.

The person I am looking for is MARY JANE SALTER, but she dropped the Mary and was known as JANE in subsequent census's, she was born in CLAYHIDON/CLAYHYDON Devon.  I think her birth year was 1859, but it seems that great granny fibbed about her age to marry!!!  :o  She is 21 on marriage in 1876, 24 in 1881 census, 32 in 1891 census and 42 in 1901 census!!!!

At least when I am accused of fibbing about my age, I can honestly say "it's not my fault, it's genetic!!!"

Many thanks in advance,

Di xxx

I was wondering if you could look up Joseph and Martha Wadsworth in the 1861 and 1871 census for me?   In 1851 they lived on Green Lane and had two children Albert and Joah A, but I don't have any information for them in 1861/71.  Thank you for any help you can provide, Nancy
