Stretford Zoo?

I am trying to find information about a zoo in Stretford or surrounding area? It was owned or managed by either JC (Jack) Ayres or Mary Ellen (Nellie) McCabe sometime between 1915 and 1951.  I can only find reference to a zoo in Longford park Does anyone have any memory of this or any suggestions? Thanks!

Hiya,I just Googled Stretford Zoo and it came up with Longford Park.The animals are still there,but I wouldn't class it as a zoo!!
The only Zoo I know associated with Manchester is Belle Vue.
Maybe some old maps might help?

I'll try that, thanks. It may not even have been Stretford! They lived there and are buried there so I assumed that they worked there! Thanks anyway, Pippa
