John William Bellairs

???

I am trying to find out more about my Grandfather (John William Bellairs) and his predecessors.
He was born in 1909 in Sheffield and his father was also called John William.
I believe the name Bellairs originated from France but otherwise I know very little about this branch of my family tree.
If anyone could shed any light I would be grateful.

Hi, welcome to Rootschat.

On the 1901 census there is:

RG13/4377 Folio 126 P 16
25 Owler Lane, Brightside Brierlow, Sheffield

Thomas Vaughan 65, widower, Fork Manufacturer, b Sheffield
Edith 21, dau, b Sheffield
John Bellairs 31, son in law, Mechanic Armoury, b Ramsey Hants
Ann Bellairs 31, dau, b Sheffield
Lilly D Bellairs 8, dau, b Sheffield
Ivy Bellairs 6, dau, b Sheffield

RG13/4381 F 135 P 19
4 court, 2 house, Dearne Street, East Brightside, Sheffield

George Bellairs 62, Steel Foundry Labourer, b Market Deeping Lincoln
Ann 60, b Falkingham Lincoln
William 30, Steel Worker, b Kimberworth Yorks
Florence J 20, b Brightside Yorks

Could John and Ann in the first family be his parents?

Sheila
